Introduction to rock-climbing

Introductory session programme

For younger people (from 7 years old) a play-based lesson with an emphasis on rock-climbing and the basic safety rules – to be discovered and shared as a family.

For beginners or occassional climbers this session covers the fundamentals of rock-climbing (using the equipment, safety rules, climbing in second or in lead). Make the most of our personalised advice to progress or you could be bold and try a multi-pitch route.

An introductory session is 2 and a half hours of learning the basics while having fun.

  • Using the equipment (harness, helmet, belay devices)
  • Learning basic safety knots
  • Progressing on the rock in routes adapted to you, climbing in second.

We will choose the site according to the weather and the participants. Somewhere near Guillestre, Panacelle, Réotier, Champcella, L’Argentière la Béssée….
